Lake Tahoe

August 2007

1
We weren't the only Chicago-folk in these woods.
2
We stayed on the California side of the South portion of the lake.
3
Magic was everywhere.
4
Maya and uncle Albert stop to look at a fountain on our way to the gondolas.
5
The gondolas at Heavenly Village, took us 9,000 ft to the top of the mountain for some great sightseeing.
6
View looking back towards the lake. Lake Tahoe: 22 mi. long, 12 mi. wide, ave. 989 ft. deep, 1,685 deep max.
7
Twisted branches off of the observation deck.
8
Some trees are just too old to remove, even if they happen to be in the middle of a ski run.
9
Uncle Albert drove from the San Francisco area to spend the day with us.
10
A chipmunk that Maya spotted and tried to talk to.
11
Mama at the top of the mountain.
12
When the mountain is covered with snow, signs help to get you back on track.
13
Team Keen.
14
Neon sign from where we stayed.
15
Beach we hung out at Sand Harbour, as we made our way around the lake.
16
Kids jumped off of the these rocks into the freezing water. Maya loved it.
